On
Wednesday night, June 6th, 1984, Abrakadabra played what would
be the first of three performances at the world-famous venue,
known to
jazz
fans worldwide as Howard Rumsey's Concerts By The Sea.
As
percussionist John Pickell remembers it, "For me, it was
my Carnegie Hall - almost every great jazz artist has at one time
or another played at Concerts By The Sea and so many albums have
been recorded there...the place was like no other." Abrakadabra
guitarist and co-founder Jonathan Coleman added, "I was
honored to be performing on a stage that had so much history and
so many legendary jazz performances."
